- How to Install the Product Update: Computer
- Connect computer to the My Passport Wireless Pro Wi-Fi network.
- Using a web browser, open the My Passport Wireless Pro dashboard.
- For PC, please use http://mypassport or http://192.168.60.1
- For Mac, please use http://mypassport.local or http://192.168.60.1
- Go to Firmware Tab.
- Under the Automatic Update section, select Check for Update.
- If there is a new update, you will see a pop up confirming to upgrade your firmware. Click OK.
- How to Install the Product Update: My Cloud App (Mobile)
- Connect mobile device to the My Passport Wireless Pro Wi-Fi network.
- From the App, go to the My Passport Wireless Pro Settings.
- Select Firmware
- Update the Firmware if an update is available
- How to Manually Install the Product Update: Computer
- Download the firmware to your desktop and you will find the actual firmware in this format: MyPassportWirelessGen2_x.bin.
- Connect your computer to the My Passport Wireless Pro Wi-Fi network.
- Using a web browser, open the My Passport Wireless Pro dashboard
- For PC, please use http://mypassport or http://192.168.60.1
- For Mac, please use http://mypassport.local or http://192.168.60.1
- Go to Firmware Tab.
- Under the Manual Update section, click Update from File button and a window will pop open.
- Browse to where you saved the MyPassportWirelessGen2_x.bin file and select it.
- You will see a pop up confirming to upgrade your firmware. Click Ok.
- How to Manually Install the Product Update: SD Card
- Download the firmware to your desktop and you will find the actual firmware in this format: MyPassportWirelessGen2_x.bin.
- Format the SD card in FAT-32 file system.
- Create a folder on the SD card named “update”.
- Copy the MyPassportGen2_x.bin file into the “update” folder.
- Turn OFF the My Passport Wireless Pro.
- Insert the SD Card.
- Turn ON the My Passport Wireless Pro.
- After the My Passport Wireless Pro boot up, the disk LED will start flashing while the update is happening.
- Once the update is complete, the My Passport Wireless Pro will automatically reboot and the LED will return to the normal ON state.
